Assoc. Pastor

Rev. Tom Lynchtomspic - Tom@1bc.org

Tom was born in Fairfax, Virginia and made his first move shortly afterward. He has lived in great cities such as Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and San Diego. After high school in San Diego, Tom left for college in Michigan where he attended Michigan State University and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Michigan State would be home to two of the most wonderful events in his life. It was as a student Tom met his beautiful wife Lore (pronounced Lori) swing dancing. Also, while studying in London, England he experienced God and professed Jesus as Lord of his life. After becoming a Christian and graduating from college, Tom worked on Capitol Hill for a United States Congressman and part-time as a youth pastor at Memorial Baptist Church in Arlington, Virginia. After two years of dual employment, Tom responded to the call of God on his life and began serving full-time at Memorial Baptist until fall of 2006. It was during these years with Memorial that Tom enrolled at the John Leland Center for Theological Studies and will be graduating with a Master of Divinity degree in spring of 2008. Since his time with Memorial ended, he has served as the Team Leader for Youth and College Ministries for the NorthStar Church Network and as the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Faithsowers, a youth ministry non-profit that helps churches begin to minister to their teenagers. After departing Memorial he and his wife began visiting the Church at Clarendon and fell in love with the community. After exploring possible ministry ideas with Dr. Alan Stanford and Rev. David Perdue for Clarendon, the church voted in the summer of 2007 to call Tom as Associate Pastor of Community Outreach. In addition to Tom’s love of the church he enjoys spending time with friends at the local Clarendon establishments, reading a good book, swing dancing, and traveling the world with his wife.
