Upcoming Activities

Many of our small groups are taking a break from meeting during the month of May.  Instead, there will be several special, one-time events for the whole congregation.  Here's what you can expect:

 

Worship Night

Thursday, May 22nd, 7:30 PM

Love singing, shouting, and praising God? Join us as we have an opportunity in an acoustic, more intimate setting to rejoice in what the Lord has done! May 22nd, 7:30pm, Church Courtyard. 2nd Annual Camping Trip

Memorial Day Weekend (May 24th-26th)

This is real camping - the middle of nowhere (Highland County, VA), a small river (Bull Pasture River), and no facilities (what we take with us is all we have). The weekend will consist of eating, exploring, caving, building fires, eating, playing games (softball, kickball, soccer, mafia, etc.), eating, and having fun. Space is limited to 20 people and the cost is $25. Email David@1bc.org to sign-up.

 

 

Hunger Banquet
Thursday, May 29th, 7:00 PM

According to the Washington Post, the world is currently experiencing the worst food crisis since the 1970s!  Come learn more about the issue of hunger in an interactive way, and join us as we respond as a church community.  Dinner will be served, donations are welcome.  All money raised will go to the Baptist Convention of Sierra Leone to help with local food production.
