Living Social Summer

In church life seasons come and go. Recent seasons have included the Breath series and Church Unity (“reach across the aisle.”) There is no denying we are in a bright new season at our church being established in the new building, and a vibrant new Senior Pastor. We are wanting this summer to be a time to recharge your batteries, and to get to know each other better. Hence, consider the “Living Social Summer” goal: Let’s enjoy living life together!

Ideas for activities together include: National’s baseball games, craft groups, nature walks, play dates for children, picnics, and so on. These are just a few ideas, but we want to hear your ideas for a fun social activity to do with your church family.

We will get back to the formal discipleship and intensive small groups in the Fall; let’s recharge with some fun this summer, together. Contact Stephen Taylor (stephen@1bc.org)

Church Anniversary

Join us Sunday May 5th, 11am for a special service followed by a church wide luncheon!

On Sunday, May 5, we will celebrate the 104th anniversary of our church and the installation service for our new pastor, Dr. James B. (“Jim”) Johnson II. We will celebrate Jim’s arrival on the church’s Anniversary Sunday as it is a continuation of the blessings God has poured out on this congregation over time. We will be joined by our co-located ministry partners who are thriving with us in the first year in the new facilities: the Child Development Center, the John Leland Center for Theological Studies, and the foreign language congregations.

Plan to be a part of this installation service for Rev. Johnson that will be at 11am on Sunday, May 5th and to the luncheon which will follow in the fellowship hall after the Worship Service.

CDC Summer Camp

The Church at Clarendon’s Child Development Center is currently accepting enrollment for their weekly Summer Camp sessions Monday June 24 through Friday August 23. Meet Our New Pastor

We are excited to announce the selection of The Church at Clarendon’s Senior Pastor. We are grateful to all who have assisted the church during our time of transition. Pastor Jim comes to us with over 25 years of ministry and counseling experience. Jim has already proven eager to get to know all of the long-standing and new members, as well as those walking through the doors for the first time.

Baptism Class

This is open to everyone with questions or interest in exploring Baptism. We are currently preparing for a Baptism Sunday in late April or early May.
