Homecoming

After nearly a decade of envisioning our building with 70 affordable housing units that grace the top 8 floors, we will finally open our new building home March 4, 2012! The Launch Team has been planning events leading up to the Homecoming of our church. Between ow and March 4th the following activities will be used to both involve our church community in the Launch and to introduce the new space and our family to the Clarendon area. We are prayerful that our efforts will be pleasing to God as we dedicate this space to Him.

  • Prayer Walk February 19 (5pm): This time will serve to usher in God’s presence to the new facility, while also giving our church community an opportunity to explore and pray for the new space and the people who will enter its doors in the coming years.
  • Clarendon Mardi Gras Parade February 21 (evening): The Clarendon Alliance organizes a family friendly Mardi Gras Parade every year. This event draws individuals living in and around Clarendon. It is a perfect occasion for us to engage the local community by having a car in the parade with our banner and friendly faces handing out invitations to our inaugural service.
  • CDC Family Dinner February 29 (6pm): The Child Development Center is the largest of its kind in
Arlington County. This dinner will be an opportunity to connect with parents of preschoolers and invite them to check out our church community, ministries and facility.
  • Handing out fliers at Clarendon Metro – March 2 & 3: Given the church’s convenient proximity to the
Clarendon Metro, volunteers will hand out invitations and hot cider to metro riders during rush hour on Friday, March 2 and the dinner rush on Saturday, March 3.

We are striving to use this opportunity of a new church facility as a step toward the further development of our church as a ministry, a community, ad a family. Special thanks to our Launch Team members for their dedication, love, time and commitment.
