Stephen Taylor

About Me:

  • Most people do not know… I am an open book
  • Inspiration… Jesus and Rock N’ Roll, in that order
  • When I grow up… I’m there, and it’s great
  • Strangest thing I have eaten… A bratwurst at mile 70 of a 100 mile run
  • Dream vacation… Any vacation, really. It’s been too long

Stephen has a passion to help people reach their true potential.  While pursuing graduate studies in psychology, Stephen transitioned to a ten year career as a professional triathlete and ultramarathoner.  Stephen soon realized that even the most admirable earthly pursuits are insignificant compared to the glory that we have as part of God’s family.  Stephen  is passionate about contemporary, relevant presentation of Christ, to help individuals connect with Christ no matter how long they have been away.  “For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength” (1 Cor 1:25.). Stephen is married to wife Susan, and recently welcomed baby Shepard into their family. Stephen is beginning his Masters of Theological Studies at the John Leland Center in January 2012.

Our Vision

To be a community that lives by faith, is known by love, and is daily growing to be more like Christ.

Our Priorities

Worship –To chose to offer our love and devotion in the simple acts of music, prayer, reading and reflection which cultivate transforming encounters with God.

Discipleship – To be vigilant in cultivating a holy discontent with the status quo, always yearning to be more like Christ in every way, both as a community and as individuals.

Love – To love all that come our way that we might be a truly diverse community united by the love of Christ.

Mission – To actively pursue the expansion of God’s Kingdom in this world beyond the confines of our church.
