Ministry Never Stops…

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men… Colossians 3:23 (NIV)

Over the past five months, while the pace and literal movement of my life has slowed, ministry has nevertheless continued. Ministry indeed never stops. Just to be clear, my definition of ministry is simply to help and encourage others through the power and guidance of Christ. As the senior pastor of our faith community, I am always praying about, dreaming about, and planning ministry on some level.

Today, I want to ask you to pray along with me about the ministry of our church. Specifically, what are you dreaming about and what ways can you help us plan and execute ministry in and through our community? I have been having conversations with some members of our church individually about these very questions. I am now broadening this discussion to include each of you.

Our church needs more ministry leaders. We need leaders in the areas of Community Engagement and Social Justice, Worship, Multimedia, Christian Education, and Family Ministries, to name a few. I believe that many of the leaders we seek are already among us, we just need to identify, train, and empower them to step into place. Will you help me do this? First, please pray. Second, please look inward to determine if God is at work showing you that there is a need and a place in our church for your passion, expertise, and wisdom. And, third, let me know. In the last quarter of the year, we will plan some leadership development and training because it is so critically important that everyone understands that leading in the Church is a special, unique, and precious calling that must be handled with care. I look forward to hearing from you!

Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave. Proverbs 12:24 (NLT)

Loving and praying for you,
Pastor Danielle
